The story begins with the narrative of two phases of elder brother "Gwang-sik's" life, past and present, about his inability to express his love for his high school crush "Yun-kyung" whom he has secretly fallen for, but ended up losing. After years pass by they again meet each other during one of their classmate's wedding. Even though this time it is apparent that she also has a positive feeling towards him, nothing else seems to have changed in Gwand-sik's side, who is so innocent and pure hearted but extremely shy and beli! eve in sentimentality of love and destiny. Meanwhile Gwang-sik's younger brother "Gwang-tae" a wide mouth and less mannered punk who has no difficulties unlike his brother, dating woman purely on purpose of having momentary pleasure. In contrast to his brother's emotional approach he has his own code "just sleep and dump" before it is too late. But one thing is common, none of them has ever said "I love you" to any woman. The dramatic U turn began when elder brother Gwang-sik's studio assistant fallen for his crush (Yun-kyung), again leading speculations of repetition of his own past and young brother Gwang-tae ended up dumped by an attractive woman's hand whom he met during a marathon, leading him to taste his own medicine and got conscious about LOVE. The final shows the devastated brothers on their own for the sake of preserving their love. Will either of them be able to succeed? Is it true that romance is decided by destiny or by your own self?Crowd-pleasing romantic comedy 200 Pounds Beauty has certainly been one of the surprise box office hits of the year. Pulling in over five million admissions, it has become one of the top ten grossing films of all time and the highest grossing romantic comedy ever. Directed by Kim Yong Hwa, the lighthearted and bitingly funny film revolves around a topic all too familiar in South Korea: plastic surgery. 200 Pounds Beauty made an overnight star out of lead Kim Ah Jung (When Romance Meets Destiny). The actress charmed both male and female moviergoers alike with her sassy, yet vulnerable performance as a young woman who becomes a singer after undergoing full body plastic surgery. Ju Jin Mo (Musa) stars as her producer and the handsome object of her affections. Bolstered by the popular! ity of the film, the soundtrack has also become a huge hit, particularly Kim Ah Jung's catchy rendition of Maria (Track 3). The most attention may have fallen on Maria, but the soundtrack contains plenty of other great songs and popular artists. Kim Ah Jung herself also sings Beautiful Girl, which comes as a solo version (Track 1) and a second version (Track 9) with And and Alex Chu of Clazziquai. Alex offers the solo track Dance with My Daddy (Track 5) as well. In keeping with the movie's theme, the soundtrack features popular rock band Loveholic's "Superstar" (Track 4) and female singer Youme's "Star" (Track 2). Other artists on the soundtrack include Kim Hyung Joong, Venny, and U.Hallelujah! Poster (27 x 40 Inches - 69cm x 102cm) (1998) reproduction poster print
